FECX is an oriental student society at the University of Birmingham that promote far-eastern culture. It is similar to the Chinese Society at the University of Birmingham, however it incorporates people of many different ethnic backgrounds.

We consist of over 150 members coming from a variety of cultural backgrounds including Chinese, British-Born Chinese, Japanese, Vietnamese, Taiwanese and Malaysian.

Our aims include to:

  • Organise events for the fun of our members and to encourage them to settle in at the university
  • Create a community for people to make friends and practise their english
  • Offer you discounts when using our membership cards in many restaurants in China Town
  • Introduce you to the Birmingham city of fun!

This is your chance to hold the present committee to account for what we've done for you this past year. This is also the time to elect the new committee who will be guiding you through the next year of social engagements!

This is a formal meeting where all members, old and new, gather and the outgoing committee explain what they have done for the past year. We will then hear from the hopeful candidates running for next year's committee and everyone present will vote and elect their new committee!
